Life sometimes is not the only work, study and family.Find a time to relax myself. You will find that life is no longer boring. This summer saw a number of temperature records - in some places of the country the temperatures rose above 40C. The high number of sunshine hours (1700 hours from May to October) in Sunny Beach, the hot weather and warm sea water will make your summer holidays to Bulgaria ones you will not forget. Along with Golden Sands, Sunny Beach is probably the largest and most popular summer holiday resort not only in Bulgaria, but on the Balkans. Sunny Beach is located some 35km north of one the busiest Bulgarian cities on the Black Sea coast - Bourgas. It's 8km long fine sand beach, numerous hotels, restaurants, two large water parks and endless entertainment facilities make it a perfect destination for all ages, although Sunny Beach is especially popular among young people with its enormous number of lively bars and nightclubs along the promenade. More than 500 hotels offer accommodation for hundreds of thousands holidaymakers wishing to unwind and have a memorable holiday. The resort's flat terrain and the fact that all hotels have been built along the coast, make the golden sandy beach easily accessible from any hotel. The seaside promenade has some 150 restaurants and plenty of bars, all offering a high standard of service at low prices. The southern part of the resort is practically built together with the northern parts of one of the jewels on the Black Sea coast - the ancient museum town of Nessebar. Also know as the "Pearl of the Black Sea" it is a must on anyone's holiday to Bulgaria. Another great reason to choose Sunny Beach as your next holiday destination is that you will discover that holidays to Bulgaria are incredible value for money. According to the latest new Holiday Costs Barometer of 15 European and mid-haul destinations by Post Office Travel Money, Bulgaria is this year's best holiday bargain. Key findings include that meals, drinks and other tourist staples are cheapest by far in Bulgaria. Apart from the numerous activities available in resort (horse riding, buggy, bungee, archery, various music events, different kinds of water sports, such as yachting, windsurfing, kiteboarding, water ski and many more), there are also a number of excursions and interesting things to see in the area around the resort. From birdwatching in the world famous national reserve Atanasovo Lake, to traditional Bulgarian folklore nights in local villages or even a shopping and sightseeing trip to Istanbul in next door neighbour Turkey. There are plenty of activities to keep you occupied in Sunny Beach resort, but if you feel the need to travel a bit further afield, here are some ideas for places to visit. Nessebar is founded on an ancient Thracian village which dates back to the 2nd Century B.C. Because of its strategic location, the settlement developed into a trading port which was initially called Messembria by the Greeks and later given the name of Nessebar. Architectural remains from the ancient town indicate that there were fortifications, aqueducts, an amphitheatre and a temple to the Greek god Apollo. The 'old town' has a picturesque collection of buildings, many of which are now used as tourist shops and restaurants. Nessebar is reputed to have contained no less than 41 churches. Although only a few of them have survived, it still offers an interesting selection of religious buildings, such as the Basilica and the Bishop's Residence. You can also see the remains of the fortified walls and Roman and Greek pavements. Burgas (or Bourgas) is the second largest city on the Black Sea Coast; Varna is the largest. The port of Burgas is the largest port in Bulgaria and includes a Duty Free Zone. The pretty Sea Garden offers a peaceful and quiet place to stroll. With an abundance of flowers, trees and interesting statues, the park stretches down the hillside towards the sea. Inside the park you will find a casino, an open-air theatre and even a small zoo. Steps lead down from the park to the city beach.
